This probably won’t come as much of a surprise- I make my own soap, after all- but I totally love a good DIY project or recipe. Especially when they are as simple and fresh as this recipe for a soothing, moisturizing body scrub. Honey is a natural humectant, which means that it draws moisture into your skin and helps to retain it.

Honey Oatmeal Body Scrub
4T Lavender Vanilla + Oatmeal Dead Sea Bath Salts
2T olive oil (or other light-scented vegetable oil)
1t honey
Mix all ingredients in a small, clean bowl. This recipe makes enough for a single use. Enjoy it all as there is no preservative and it cannot be stored.
To use: Do NOT shave before using this scrub- the salt will sting if you have any cuts! Wet your skin and grab a small amount of scrub in your hand. Gently scrub your skin using small, circular motions. Pay special attention to rough areas like your elbows and knees. Repeat until you’ve used all the scrub mixture. Take a moment to breathe deeply and let the lavender soothe you! Rinse with warm water. You can then either gently pat your skin dry or cleanse with our Honey + Oatmeal or Lavender + Oatmeal Bar Soaps. Enjoy your smooth, radiant skin!

The scrub recipe is great. I’ve used honey for years for cooking and as an ointment to heal minor cuts quickly. The honey-oatmeal soap is a wonderful product too.
